Four star tight end Mike Heuerman committed to Notre Dame on Thursday. He chose the Irish over Ohio State and Miami (Fla.)

“I wanted to get back there and spend more time with the players in the program,” Heuerman told ESPN.com. “When I took my first visit in March I mostly hung out with Aaron Lynch, who is a close friend of mine. Heuerman’s younger brother Jeff is a 2012 Ohio State commitment and there were thoughts that the two brothers may want to play college football together.

Instead, Heuerman is headed to South Bend. If all goes according to plan, he will early enroll with the Irish.
